ISLAMABAD: Federal Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Wednesday that the experts believed Eidul Fitr would fall on May 24 according to their calendar,
While talking to overseas journalists, Fawad Chaudhry once again criticized the clerics about the moon sighting techniques. Mufti Muneebur Rehman and Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai were standing on separate roads, he said.
He censored that the moon was not going to change its orbit over the opinion of anyone. The minister claimed that the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee no longer had any practical relevance in Pakistan.
NASA had announced it would send out a long-term mission to stay on the moon. The clerics will see a challenge in the future for how to celebrate the Eid festival on the moon.
It is appropriate to mention here that the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted that Eidul Fitr, which marks the peak of Ramazan’s fasting month, would probably fall on May 25 (Monday).
