Fayyazul Hassan Chohan came under fire after his anti-Hindu remarks, ruling PTI took strict action against him and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar accepted on Tuesday Fayyazul Hassan Chohan’s resignation from his post. Buzdar summoned Fayyazul Hassan Chohan at the Punjab CM House and sought explanation for Chohan’s controversial remarks.
The Punjab information minister after heavy criticism also extended apology and said “I was addressing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian armed forces and their media not the Hindu community in Pakistan.” “I apologise if my remarks hurt the Hindu community in Pakistan,” Chohan continued. “My remarks were in no way directed at Pakistan’s Hindu community.”
Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said in a video that went viral on the social media that “We are Muslims and we have a flag, the flag of Maula Alia’s bravery, and flag of Hazrat Umara’s valour. You don’t have that flag; it isn’t in your hands,” the Minister was quoted. “Don’t operate under the delusion that you are seven times better than us. What we have, you can’t have, you idol-worshippers,” Mr Chohan said.
