According to the spokesperson of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) clarified that the last date for filing of income tax returns will not be extended beyond today (Friday).
The spokesperson of revenue collection body said that as a result of a full-fledged campaign, the results are coming out and people are increasingly submitting their annual income tax returns.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) disclosed that the number of tax return filers has exceeded 2.3 million, a total of 2,350,000 people had filed their tax returns, He said
The spokesperson of tax collection body added that so far, tax worth more than Rs45 billion has been collected along with the statements for the current fiscal year.
He also restated that there will be no extension in the date for filing annual income tax returns.
It must be noted that the FBR had mentioned earlier that it would not extend the deadline after September 30, however, extraordinary interest in existing and new taxpayers had put huge pressure on FBR’s IRIS online portal which caused occasional disruptions and adversely affected its functional efficiency.
