On Friday, the Federal Revenue Board (FBR) here crushed the status of tax returns for new gas connections, in an effort to expand the tax network.
In a letter addressed to the heads of the gas companies, FBR Chairman Shahbar Zaidi said that requests of non- filers for the gas connection should not be processed. Zaidi asked the gas companies to provide complete data on commercial and domestic gas consumers.
FBR’s spokesman said, non- filer businessmen were not allowed to deduct the sales tax from customers and urged people to identify unregistered merchants. He urged the masses to contact the FBR’s helpline for any questions or to submit their complaints.
Earlier on August 2, the Federal Revenue Board (FBR) had extended the deadline for filing tax returns for the year 2018 to August 9.
