After a decade long resumption of British airways to Pakistan, now Thai Airways will start flight operation in Lahore from July 16, said Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday (July 2). Earlier, Thai Airways has suspended the flight service to Islamabad and Lahore due to the closure of airspace.
The federal minister took to twitter saying, “Thai Airways to start operation from Lahore to Bangkok and beyond with 4 flights a week from 16 July 2019”.
It’s worth mentioning that British Airways resume its flight operation to Pakistan after a decade-long gap. First flight of British Airways (BA- 261) was arrived at Islamabad International Airport on June 3 at from Heathrow, London where 240 passengers had landed in Pakistan.British Airways halted services in 2008 in the wake of a suicide bombing attack that killed more than 50 people at Islamabad’s Marriott Hotel, at that time British Airways normally operated six flights a week between London and Islamabad, the Pakistani capital.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan had said that resumption of British Airways flights to Pakistan is an expression of trust in “Naya Pakistan” and its government.
