Fiona Ferro won the Ladies Open tennis championship, the first event on the WTA Tour in five months due to the corona virus. Suspended tennis activities have resumed due to the corona virus. The first official WTA event was held in Italy five months later.
In the final of the Ladies Open, 23-year-old Fiona Ferro of France won the second WTA title of her career by defeating No. 4 seed Annette Conteveit of Estonia in straight sets, six, two and seven, five.
Ferro has won two singles title on the WTA Tour and four singles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit. She has career-high WTA rankings of No. 44 in singles, attained on 10 August 2020, and No. 270 in doubles, set on 3 February 2020.
Ferro was the national girls’ champion of France in the 12-13 year-old, 15-16 year-old and 17-18 year-old categories. She had a career-high ITF junior combined ranking of world No. 27, attained on 3 June 2013.
