Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi while talking to media on Friday (Jan 11) commented on appearance of Prime Minister Imran Khan before national accountability bureau in connection with the misuse of helicopter of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government, which allegedly caused losses to the national exchequer , and said that PM Khan will appear before the National Accountability Bureau whenever summoned.
While talking about cases against opposition leaders he said, “Not even a single case was initiated against the leadership of PPP and PML-N during the PTI government. Rule of law prevails in the country and everyone is equal before it”. Referring to Pakistani’s foreign relations he said “We improved our relations with Saudi Arabia, and because of the improved foreign policies of the PTI government Riyadh gave Islamabad a financial package of $12 billion. The UAE and China also announced financial aid of $3bn and $2bn, respectively. Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is also coming to Pakistan on March 23 along with a delegation of investors,” he claimed.
Earlier on January 10 National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said “People are naive to think that we have insulted prime minister. In fact the case against him shows the supremacy of law in Pakistan, and it has increased the honour of premier,” he said. “If the leader of the opposition can face such probes then the premier also doesn’t have the immunity from NAB probe.”
