Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister of Pakistan said that strong Pakistan-U.S. ties was mutually beneficial and vital for peace and stability in the region.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi while talking to US Charge de Affairs Paul Jones who paid a farewell call on the Foreign Minister in Islamabad, Lauded his efforts in building the bilateral relationship during the last 2 years.
The foreign minister during the meeting once again highlighted the grave human rights and humanitarian situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, FM Qureshi emphasized that the international community must take steps to help alleviate the sufferings of the Kashmiri people and realization of their legitimate rights, The U.S. had a crucial role in this matter.
Pakistan had played an important role in the Afghan peace and reconciliation process, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said
FM Qureshi further added that the process had now reached a crucial phase and all Afghan sides should seize this historic opportunity and start the intra-Afghan negotiations at the earliest to achieve an inclusive and comprehensive political settlement.
