Then Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (Surah Ibrahim : 4 )
A Dutch former MP Joram van Klaveren who always contributed for creating bad image of Islam, and also the close aide of a man behind an anti-Islam firebrand, Geert Wilders has reportedly accepted Islam on Tuesday (Feb 4) in a shocked conversion. Previously Klaveren was anti-Islam critic and termed Islam as biggest disease, Lie and poison in the country from past years. Mr van Klaveren made it clear that his conversion is purely personal religious matter.
As per reports, as he started working on writing a book against Islam to highlight negativity and controversial points, which could contribute in a huge negative agenda against Islam, but with the passage of time he realized that it is not so bad or perverse. While talking about shocking conversion, 40-year-old Van Klaveren revealed that his mind and heart were completely changed during a research for writing a critic book against Islam as he found nothing which could prevail negativity and bad image of Islam, adding that he is formally converted to a Muslim now.
“I have contributed to creating and maintaining that bad image of Islam, but you cannot imagine how preconceptions work, until you have to deal with them yourself,” he said. “The prior years I had a big aversion to Islam. When you then have to conclude that you were wrong, it is not a fun moment. But while searching for God I always felt a certain unease. And that slowly disappeared. It felt a bit like coming home in a religious way.”
Apart from accepting Islam, he also expressed regret for creating bad image of Islam and all false allegations against religion. On the other hand some critics thought that if it “isn’t PR stunt to promote his book, then it really is an extraordinary choice for somebody who had a lot to say about Islam”.
Other than being critic, Klaveren was also involved in relentless campaign against Islam in Netherlands’ Lower House. Klaveren left the PVV after leader Geert Wilders led an anti-Muslim chant in 2014 and formed his own party.
