Lieutenant General (R) Asim Bajwa has been appointed the head of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority. He has been appointed for a period of four years.
According to details, a summary in this regard was prepared by the Prime Minister’s Office and was sent to Cabinet Division for approval. General Asim Saleem Bajwa is a retired general who has also served as Commander Southern Command and Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) from 2012 to 2016.
He has also been honored with the Tamgha-e-Basalat and Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his military services.
Earlier, President Dr. Arif Alvi had promulgated an Ordinance for establishment of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority. The establishment of CPEC Authority was aimed at accelerating the pace of CPEC related activities, find new drivers of growth, unlock the potential of interlinked production network and global value chains through regional and global connectivity.
