The controversial matter of resignation of former federal Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Azam Swati has came to an end as President Arif Alvi has finally accepted the resignation of Azam Swati. A notification issued by the Cabinet Division dated Jan 9 said that the president had accepted the PTI leader’s resignation with effect from Dec 6.
Mr. sawati had resigned over unlawful removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP), Islamabad, Jan Muhammad, for allegedly refusing to take action on the complaint by Federal Minister’s son and failing to pick calls from the federal minister.
As per details, IGP Islamabad was removed after, Swati’s son filed an FIR at the Shehzad Town Police Station against several people for allegedly letting their animals into the former’s fields. On being stopped, the suspects attacked the Swati’s son and quarrelling with his servants, snatching weapons and held them hostage. Earlier Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar said that the Supreme Court will conduct Federal Minister Azam Swati’s trial under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution in a case pertaining to the misuse of the power case.
