Former Secretary Petroleum Abid Saeed has turned approver in the LNG scandal case. Anti Corruption body of the country National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has formed teams to arrest further two more people involved in the case which included ex-finance minister Miftah Ismail and former managing director Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Imran Ul Haq after the arrest of former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi.
Abid Saeed will soon record his statement as the approver in the LNG scandal case in front of the NAB investigation team. According to sources in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the decision to apprehend Khaqan Abbasi was made after the ex-secretary agreed to turn approver against the PML-N leader.
Earlier on July 18, NAB arrested Former Prime Minister and PML-N senior leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from the Lahore Toll Plaza on Motorway. He was arrested in connection with LNG import contract and LNG terminal. The NAB arrested him when he reached at Lahore Toll Plaza Thokar Niaz Baig after showing him arrest warrant. He was coming to Lahore to attend the press conference of PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif.
