Four police officers were arrested on Wednesday (April 17) after a 19-month-old boy was killed in crossfire near Safoora Chowrangi at Karachi’s University Road.
The bereaved parents, however, rejected the FIR saying that it was not filed according to their wishes and that the police were trying to protect the officials involved in the incident. According to postmortem report, Ahsan received bullets from the right side of the chest and exited through his back. The same bullet, it added, grazed his father, Kashif Raja, and wounded him. A first information report (FIR) has been registered against four unidentified persons.
According to details, the family was going to their home on an auto rickshaw when a stray bullet hit the little boy named Ahsan. Boy’s father said that he saw two police officials with pistols in their hands. Chief Minister Sindh has taken notice of the incident and ordered investigation.
