Hundreds of people gathered in a park in Clifton Block II on Wednesday to pay their respects to famous comic Umer Sharif.
The main gate was locked because of the large throng at the park’s entrance.
Traffic cops, municipal wardens, and other cops are clearing the way for the ambulance to take the comedian to the Abdullah Shah Ghazi cemetery, where he will be put to rest.
The renowned comedian’s funeral preparations have been finalised, according to SSP South, who spoke to Geo News earlier.
“At the funeral, around 200 police personnel would be stationed under the supervision of two DSPs,” stated SSP South.
He said that police had constructed a walk-through barrier at the Umer Sharif Park entrance in Clifton Block II. The land outside the park’s main entrance has been designated as a parking space for the funeral services, and traffic police officers have been stationed outside the park to ensure that traffic flows smoothly.
Prior to the funeral services, a bomb disposal crew searched the Umer Sharif park.
