The Federal government on Tuesday announced four holidays from June 4 till June 7 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. A notification has also been issued in this regard. It is notified for general information that June 4 to June 7 (Tuesday to Friday) shall be public holidays on the occasion of religious festival of Eid-ul-Fitr, the notification read.
Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced Eid-ul-Fitr on June 5. Meanwhile, a meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would be held in Karachi on June 4, for sighting the crescent of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram 1440 AH.
According to weather department the crescent of Eid-ul-Fitr is most likely to be sighted in the evening of Tuesday June 4, thus Eid would be observed on Wednesday June 5.
