After the resignation of Akram Chaudhry, now Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led Punjab government has appointed Dr. Salman Shah as a new adviser to Chief Minister, Usman Buzdar on economic affairs and planning.
A notification for Shah’s appointment has been issued and the economist has been directed by Chief Minister Buzdar to assume responsibilities immediately. Earlier Akram Chaudhry was reportedly asked to tender his resignation from his post and has been offered Chairmanship of Punjab Food Authority.
Having a PhD in finance from Indiana University, USA, Dr Salman Shah has earlier served as an adviser to then prime minister Shaukat Aziz with the status of a federal minister in 2004-08 during Musharraf regime.
Following a major cabinet reshuffle in April, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has changed portfolios of several Federal Ministers including former Finance Minister Asad Umar and Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary.
