Minister of State for Revenue, Hammad Azhar while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday (Feb 7) said that government is taking concrete measures on emergency basis to steer out the economy from the crisis adding that over one billion dollars of foreign investment was witnessed in the country during first five months of PTI led government.
“No new taxes will be imposed in the current fiscal year to achieve revenue target as prior conditions for availing the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package,” said State Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar here on Thursday. “We have set the economy on right track as the country’s economy is getting improved with the passage of time and we would continue exposing those who are misleading the people by presenting wrong facts and figures,” he added.
He said trade deficit of the country has been declined by 5 percent. He also expressed confidence the Federal Board of Revenue will achieve set target of revenue collection this year.
