Eventually, Dwayne Johnson turned producer for a spin-off series titled Hobbs & Shaw, which would be focused on his character Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham’s character, Deckard Shaw.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, producer and writer of Hobbs & Shaw, Chris Morgan, was asked how the ‘feud’ between Vin and Dwayne had impacted the Fast & Furious franchise as a whole. To this, Chris stressed, “I don’t think there’s a feud per se. I know there’s a lot of reports and stories and stuff like that, but they’re both nice, mature guys, and they’re also businessmen. I don’t think it has a major effect on the Fast franchise. The characters will continue to weave in and out.”
Currently, The Rock is busy with the promotions of Hobbs & Shaw, which released in India today, i.e. August 2, 2019. Along with Dwayne and Jason, Hobbs & Shaw also stars Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, and Helen Mirren while Deadpool 2 fame David Leitch has helmed the movie.
On the other hand, Vin is extremely busy with the shoot of Fast & Furious 9, which marks the entry of John Cena to the franchise. Fast & Furious 9 is slated to release on May 22, 2020.
