Human bones have been recovered during an excavation for Green Line Project in Karachi. According to police, the bones were recovered from Annu Bhai’s park adjacent to a private hospital in Nazimabad 3.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Arif Saleem, the bones were recovered during an excavation being carried out for development purposes. According to initial investigation, the bones might have been a medical wastage and had been buried there many years ago.
SSP Rao added that no human skeleton had been found and different sizes of human bones were recovered from different parts of the park wrapped in rolls of clothes. There is a well-known private hospital adjacent to this park and it is believed that the bones were buried by the hospital administration which has denied the claims.
According to the administrator of private hospital, Nusrat Fahim, they do not bury bones on their own like this. “We do not cut off body parts daily, it only happens sometimes and the cut-off limbs are given to the family of the patients, who then bury them,” he said adding,
“The hospital staff buries them in a graveyard if there is no one to collect them.” The investigations are underway to determine the facts, police officials revealed.
