Indian Air Force chief BS Dhanoa on Monday (March 4) finally responded to much awaited answer regarding IAF pilot who was released by Pakistan as peace gesture, Abhinandan Varthaman’s return as fighter pilot and said that Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman will ever fly a fighter jet will depend on his medical fitness.
“Whether he flies or not again depends on his medical fitness. That’s why post ejection he has undergone medical fitness test. Once he gets his medical fitness then only will he get into a fighter cockpit,” said IAF Chief.
Earlier according to medical examination including MRI scan of Abhinandan no bugs had been implanted in India Air Force (IAF) pilot. However the MRI scan showed lower spine injury that could have happened upon being ejected from his MiG-21 fighter plane after Pakistan Air Force shot down his plane over violation of its airspace The medical tests also confirmed Pakistan’s claim that the captured Indian pilot was treated with dignity and in line with international law.
