KARACHI: According to a release, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received IATA’s (International Air Transport Association) new distribution capability (NDC) level 4 accreditation.
The national flag carrier has just begun a digital transformation initiative, as part of which it will modernise its business procedures, resource competency, technological update, and partner partnerships to meet new industry norms and practises.
The IATA’s NDC level 4 accreditation, which enables PIA to better connect, interact, and exchange rich material across industry partners and through distribution channels, is the highest level of certification given to the airline.
This accomplishment will greatly improve PIA’s merchandising, retailing, and product differentiation capabilities.
The NDC accreditation will not only help PIA improve its distribution standard, but it will also allow the airline to better serve its customers, travel agencies, and industry partners, speeding up the airline’s digital transformation.
PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik praised the IT and commercial departments of the airline, as well as HITIT Computer Systems, the airline’s Passenger Services System (PSS) supplier, for their contributions to the success.
This accomplishment, he added, demonstrates PIA’s dedication to become the airline of choice for travel agencies, distribution partners, and valued passengers.
