Clashes which were erupted after the violent lawyers attacked the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC )Lahore, have created a storm across the country. Soon after the clashes the Punjab government announced strict action against the lawyers and also arrested over 250 lawyers for their involvement in the incident.
As per details, A first information report (FIR) was registered against 200-250 unidentified lawyers on the complaint of an official of the hospital, while another was registered on the complaint of police in which 15 lawyers were nominated. In reaction of FIR and detentions, Lawyers across the country has boycotted the courts and demanded the release of their colleagues.

Not only the lawyers, but Courts are also seemed to be united for this purpose as Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) has on Friday (Dec 13) boycotted oath-taking ceremony of three new additional judges as deadlock between bar and bench has continued to persist on Pakistan Institute of Cardiology (PIC) clash.
Judge Excuses Himself From Hearing Lawyers’ Case
On the other hand Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has on Friday excused himself from hearing the case against eight detained lawyers regarding their release.
Earlier, three heart patients died after Up to 200 lawyers wearing traditional black suits forcefully entered into emergency ward of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) by smashing windows, doors and equipment and attacked the doctors. In this unfortunate incidents patients have to suffer badly and even around 39 patients sustained severe injuries.
