The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday (May 15) has granted pre-arrest bails to Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur, in six different corruption cases.
As per details, a two-judge IHC bench led by Justice Umar Farooq granted bail extension to Zardari until June 12 in the M/s Parklane Estate case, while he and his sister were granted extension until June 11 in the “JV (Joint Venture)-Opal 225 inquiry.
The IHC extended Zardari’s interim bail in the Tosha Khana vehicles inquiry until June 20. In an investigation pertaining to suspicious transactions, Zardari’s interim bail was extended until May 21. Interim bail for Zardari and Talpur were also extended to May 29 in the mega-money laundering case. Zardari has been summoned by the National Accountability on May 16 in relation to the Haresh and Company case, which is a part of the larger ongoing investigation over alleged fake accounts used to launder money.
The former president is named in 36 NAB inquiries and the anti-corruption watchdog claims that his role has been established in at least eight cases so far, according to an 11-page report submitted by the bureau to the IHC on Tuesday.
