The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday (Jan 31) postponed hearing of a petition seeking disqualification of Pakistan People s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and IHC’s registrar office is expected to fix the hearing of the petition again.
Earlier it was reported that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah, will hear petition seeking Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari’s disqualification as member of national assembly, today (Jan 31), but later it was postponed. Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) leaders Usman Dar and Khurram Sher Zaman, in petition states that Zardari had not disclose his assets in nomination papers and they sought disqualification under Article 62(1)(f). “Zardari should be disqualified because he is the owner of an apartment in New York and two bulletproof cars. The assets are worth Rs143.7 million. Zardari hasn’t declared the apartment in his nomination papers,” states the petition.
Zardari was elected MNA from NA-213 seat during the July 25 general election and is not qualified to be a member of the National Assembly, the petition added.
