The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has established an immigration office at Kartarpur border in Narowal to check the documents of Sikh pilgrims and identify them through bio-metric technology adding that pilgrims having visa would be allowed to enter the city while pilgrims with permits would be given access to Gurudwara only.
FIA Deputy Director Mufakhar Adeel while talking to media said that terrorists, human traffickers and drug dealers could easily cross the border, so that’s why strong mechanism was required to keep the situation under control on both sides of the border.
Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the Kartarpur corridor, to facilitate Sikh Pilgrims to visit their holy places. Kartarpur corrodor connects Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur area of Pakistan’s Narowal with Dera Baba Nanak in India’s Gurdaspur District.
