India is scheduled to hand over the body of Pakistani prisoner Shakirullah, who was stoned to death in the Indian jail, to Pakistani authorities on Saturday (March 2).
Pakistani prisoner Identified as Shakirullah, who had been eight years into a life term at Jaipur central jail, was stoned to death by other inmates at the prison, the Rajasthan inspector general of police in-charge of prisons confirmed the reports. As per reports Pakistani prisoner was brutally murdered following Pulwama attack which killed 44 Indian troops.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry had stated that “Pakistan is gravely concerned at media reports regarding the brutal killing of a Pakistani Prisoner, Mr. Shakir Ullah, imprisoned in Jaipur Central Jail. He was beaten to death by a group of Indian inmates in retaliation of the Pulwama incident”, said the statement. “Meanwhile, we call upon the Indian Government to fulfill its obligations and ensure provision of foolproof security to all Pakistani inmates / prisoners in Indian Jails and Pakistani visitors to India”.
