In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth in Kulgam district, today. The troops martyred the youth during a cordon and search operation in Gopalpora area of the district in pre-dawn hours, today. One of the martyred youth was identified as Zahid Ahmed Mantoo.
A senior police officer talking to media men claimed that the youth was killed in an encounter with the troops. Following the killing of the youth, the occupation authorities have suspended mobile internet service in Kulgam and Shopian districts. Meanwhile, the troops launched cordon and search operations in different areas of Srinagar, Shopian, Pulwama and Bandipora districts.
Indian forces have admitted to have martyred twelve Kashmiri youth during their stepped-up state terrorism across south and north Kashmir since beginning of holy month of Ramadan. The official figures said these youth were martyred during six major cordon and search operations between May 10 and May 18. A top Indian police officer told Srinagar-based English daily that there had been a surge in the cordon and search operations in the past two weeks.
