Investigation officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Nadir Abbas on Wednesday (July 3) recorded his statements before accountability court in a case pertaining to assets reference against former finance minister and PML-N’s senior leader Ishaq Dar,
However statement of NAB investigation officer could not be completed in the hearing today, so that’s why court has asked to complete statements in next hearing on July 10. During the hearing co-accused Saeed Ahmed, Naeem Mehmood and Mansoor Rizvi were also present during the case hearing.
Earlier in a major development of corruption cases, Pakistan’s government has signed a treaty with British government for extradition of former Finance Minister and Pakistan PML-N’s senior leader Ishaq Dar. According to the copy of the MoU – signed this week and case specific to Ishaq Dar – provides legal basis in the absence of an extradition treaty.
The court has declared him a proclaimed offender over his perpetual absence from the trial proceedings and attached his movable and immovable properties. Dar, a former senator, has been in London since October last year on account of his medical treatment. Moreover, a reference against the former finance minister was filed by the NAB in light of the Supreme Court’s July 28 verdict in the Panama Papers case.
