At least fifteen people were killed when a decades-old Iranian Boeing 707 military cargo plane reportedly carrying meat Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan’s capital, to Iran, crashed on Monday (Jan 14) while trying to land west of Iran’s capital.
According to Iranian Army spokesperson, a Boeing 707 military cargo plane crashed due to bad weather in west of Tehran. A flight engineer survived and was taken to hospital. Iranian state television aired images of smoke-charred homes and the fuselage of the aircraft lying on the ground in the neighbourhood. Nearby was one of its landing gears, torn away. Small fires burned around it.
