Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani on Thursday (Feb 14) has blamed the United States and its regional allies for the suicide bombing in Sistan-Baluchestan province that killed twenty seven members of the country’s elite Revolutionary Guards, Iranian state TV quoted President.
The Iranian leader said that Israel’s “regional agents” were to blame for the attack, without identifying any other states from the Middle East. “The crime will remain as a ‘dirty stain’ in the black record of the main supporters of terrorism in the White House, Tel Aviv and their regional agents,” Mr Rouhani said. “There is a link between this crime … and some regional and international spying and intelligence agencies,” TV quoted.
A day after Iran marked its 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, at least twenty three members of elite Revolutionary Guards were killed and seven sustained injuries in a suicide attack targeting a bus transporting the security force, on the road between the southeastern cities of Zahedan and Khash today. A separatist group called Jaish al-Adl, or Army of Justice, has claimed responsibility, according to state-run news agency.
Earlier US President Donald Trump took to twitter, and taunts Iran’s revolution as failure. “40 years of corruption. 40 years of repression. 40 years of terror. The regime in Iran has produced only #40YearsofFailure,” he wrote. “The long-suffering Iranian people deserve a much brighter future,” the American president added.
