In the first Eliminator match of the Pakistan Super League, season four, Islamabad United beat Karachi Kings by four wickets. Islamabad victory has ended the PSL journey of Karachi Kings.
Earlier, Karachi Kings set a target of 162 for Islamabad United after winning the toss and decided to bat first. Only one change was made in each of the two teams: Aamer Yamin has replaced Sohail Khan in Karachi while in Islamabad side, Alex Hales will play in place of Phil Salt. While Islamabad United achieved the victory target of 162 runs in 19.3 overs.
Islamabad United will meet Peshawar Zalmi in Eliminator 2 on Friday, with the winner qualifying for the sell-out 17 March final. However, Islamabad captain Mohammad Sami feels it will be a new match on a new day. “We have done well in the league phase, but there are no advantages because come Thursday it will be a new match for both the teams,” said Sami.
