At least four soldiers have been killed on Monday (Feb 11) when a military helicopter crashed in a residential neighborhood on the Asian side of Istanbul, according to the Turkish city’s governor, Ali Yerlikaya. There were no civilian injuries or casualties.
The cause of the incident has not yet known. “Unfortunately four of our soldiers became martyrs,” Yerlikaya told reporters. Images on Turkish television earlier showed thick black smoke emanating from behind a white wall at the site on the Asian side of Istanbul.
Earlier several people were killed and several sustained injuries when a six-story building had 43 people living in 14 apartments, had a street-level ground floor and six higher floors, collapsed at Kartal district of Istanbul, Turkey, Turkish officials said.
