Khashoggi was a Saudi writer, an American resident and Washington Post columnist. On October 2nd, he was in the Saudi consulate to attain documents declaring he had divorced his ex-wife so he could marry again when he was brutally murdered.
After rejecting for weeks that it had anything to do with Kashoggi’s disappearance, the kingdom ultimately admitted that its representatives were behind the murder. The details of his body are still unknown.
Last month, the head of investigations reported that Khashoggi’s final words were “I’m suffocating … Take this bag off my head, I’m claustrophobic”, as per a recording attained from inside the Saudi consulate in Turkey.
The fiancée of late Jamal Kashoggi, has called for the culprits of this murder to be recognized and put on trial. In an interview Cengiz said she will make sure everyone guilty of his murder is brought to justice.
She said, “On behalf of Jamal’s relatives and loved ones, and I say this as one of them, we need to know the whereabouts of his body. This is a basic human right.”
