A security consultant for Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos has accused Saudi Arabia of accessing the Amazon chief executive’s phone and obtaining private information about the world’s richest man.
Gavin de Becker, Mr Bezos’s security chief, said in an article on the Daily Beast website that the Saudi government had launched a campaign against Mr Bezos, who also owns the Washington Post, following the newspaper’s coverage of the killing of columnist Jamal Khashoggi.
“Our investigators and several experts concluded with high confidence that the Saudis had access to Bezos’ phone, and gained private information,” wrote Mr de Becker. Mr de Becker claimed the publisher had also asked him to say that the story was not “instigated, dictated or influenced in any manner by external forces, political or otherwise”.
