Justice Athar Minallah on Wednesday (Nov 28) took oath as the new Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), in a ceremony administered by by President Dr Arif Alvi at the President House. Federal ministers, parliamentarians and judges of Islamabad High Court attended the ceremony.
He succeeded Justice Mohammad Anwar Khan Kasi, who retired on November 27 after serving as the IHC chief justice for seven years, 10 months and 23 days.
Earlier on November 14, President Alvi had approved the appointment of Minallah, which was recommended by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (SJC) headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar.
