Three member of a family were killed in bright day light by CTD Punjab. The father, mother and elder sister were assassinated in front of three minor children. It is a cold blooded murder. The JIT in its initial inquiry has accepted that innocent people have been killed in an alleged encounter in Sahiwal.
How strange it is that chief minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar thinks that justice has been done. Just the transfer of few officials of CTD and arrests of low level officials seems enough for chief minister to serve the justice to victim family.
In a statement, he said the government has honoured its promise of taking action against the responsible persons within 72 hours of the tragic incident. He further said that his government has fulfilled its promise of providing justice to the victims of Sahiwal ‘shootout’ that killed four people – including three members of a family.
He also claimed that there is no room for transgressors of the law in ‘Naya Pakistan’. But this type of justice delivery was the hallmark of Purana Pakistan. We saw transfers, posting and suspensions of officials after every tragic incident. Such actions never stop the innocent people being killed in extra judicial killings and fake encounters.
Dear Chief Minister Punjab, this is routine exercise. We were expecting something concrete and different from the past practices. Those officers responsible of this action will continue to serve in police department with new assignment in Naya Pakistan as they were used to do in Purana Pakistan.
What is apparent so far is that the CTD officials from top to bottom tried everything to cover up this heinous crime. Transfers of all those who involved in the cover up are not enough to serve justice. They should be charged with the offences of obstructing the justice and to hide the facts.
Unfortunately, no top ranking police official came forward to accept the blunder. Everybody tried to cover up the crime. CTD officials came up with different contradictory versions and statements. All these involved in this whole episode should be punished properly. Present JIT and its investigation is not enough to bring out all the facts.
The people of this country want to know who provided false or incomplete information to the CTD and at what level this information was verified. Who took the decision to kill four people in such brutal manner when no resistance was shown by the passengers of this car? There are many questions that need answers. Without full investigation and inquiry, how the chief minister can say to deliver justice.
Dear Chief Minister please realise the seriousness of this situation and act accordingly. Three innocent lives lost and whole family were ruined. Three children will spend their entire life with the stigma and pain of that incident. Three innocent children lost their loving parents and caring elder sister.
A Joint Investigation Team formed to probe the Sahiwal killings, in its initial report mentioned negligence on part of the CTD officials and said there was no link between the Khalil family killed in the incident and terrorism.
It is really sad that chief minister of the largest province of this country is satisfied that officials responsible for these cold blooded murders have been transferred as punishment. The message from chief minister is loud and clear that only faces have been changed at the top and rest is the same. The message is clear that police officials have been punished and justice done. So live in old Pakistan with the signboard of Naya Pakistan.
Sir, you might be satisfied with your actions but many in this country dare to differ with you. It seems that nobody is interested to deliver the justice.
