In Pakistan Super League, season four, Peshawar Zalmi qualified for the final beating Islamabad United by 48 runs in the final eliminator at the National Stadium of Karachi on Friday (March 15).
Islamabad United won the toss and decided to field first. Peshawar Zalmi openers Kamran Akmal and Imam-ul-Haq scored an opening stand of 135 and set huge target of,214 runs for the loss of five wickets. Imam was the first to be dismissed as he made 58 after scoring seven boundaries and two sixes. Kamran Akmal fell shortly afterwards after scoring a brilliant 74 off 43 deliveries with the help of 10 fours and three maximums.
In reply, Islamabad United could manage to score 166 for the loss of nine wickets in stipulated overs. Hussain Talat and Faheem Ashraf tried to takje the match closer to target with their 46-run partnership on the sixth wicket. The game went out of Islamabad’s reach when Faheem Ashraf got out for 31.
Final of the tournament will be played on Sunday between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.
