A six-story residential building on Monday (Dec 30) collapsed in Ranchore line area of Karachi. Security forces and rescue teams have rushed to spot. Luckily the residents were shifted from the building before it collapsed over the empty godown situated into its surroundings.
According to details, there were 24 flats and a couple of warehouses in the building that was built 12 years ago. Utility connections to the residential complex were already disconnected by the local authorities.
On Monday morning, the building was evacuated in after cracks appeared. The officials present on the site are of the view that ‘substandard material’ was used in the construction.
