Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 6 Wickets in the 13th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6 as Babar Azam and Mohammad Nabi outclass the Zalmi Bowlers.
Babar and Nabi both scored 118 runs to help Karachi Kings chase down a massive target of 189 runs and secured the first position on the points table after winning the 3rd match out of 5.
Peshawar Zalmi while batting first opener Kamran Akmal and Tom Cadmore scored 30 runs before Kamran Akmal fell to debutant Abbas Afridi, He scored 21 runs with the help of 4 boundaries.
Ravi Bopara and Sherfane Rutherford took the charge completely and dominated King’s bowlers.
Bopara remained not out for 58 runs laced with 6 boundaries and a six whereas Rutherford scored 46 with the help of 3 boundaries and as many sixes.
Ravi Bopara and Sherfane Rutherford drove Peshawar Zalmi to 188-5 in 20 overs against Karachi Kings, both partnered for the 5th wicket to score 82 runs together to rescue Zalmi after they lost a couple of early wickets.
Peshawar Zalmi’s Amad Butt struck 27 runs in the last over with Daniel Christain conceding 32 runs in an over, the most expensive so far in PSL.
For Karachi Kings, Mohammad Ilyas and Abbas Afridi took 2 wickets each while Daniel Christian picked a wicket.
While chasing the target Mohammad Imran picked Sharjeel Khan for naught to take Peshawar Zalmi on high.
Joe Clarke (17) and Colin Ingram (3) departed earlier to pave the way for Babar Azam and Mohammad Nabi to show solid partnership.
Babar Azam remained not out for 77 runs off 47 balls with the help of 7 boundaries and 3 sixes whereas Mohammad Nabi consolidated for 67 runs laced with 8 boundaries and 4 sixes.
Daniel Christian, in the end, struck 2 boundaries and a six to score quick 16 runs as Karachi Kings wrapped up their 3rd successive win.
For Peshawar Zalmi, Saqib Mahmood picked 2 wickets while Imran and Mohammad Irfan bagged a wicket each.
