At least two people were killed and eight others injured in the blast, took place on Friday, under Quaidabad flyover in a crowded area of the locality, SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said. Victims were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where doctors confirmed the death of two people, rescue services said.
Concerned authorities have started investigation and gathered some clues from the incident place to ascertain the nature and cause of the blast. Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in-charge Raja Umer Khitab on Friday, said that Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) during operation, had found a device from the site which was sent to the laboratory for determination adding that explosives were used in the blast.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the additional inspector-general of Sindh police.
