Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday (May 8) while speaking to journalists outside the National Assembly, criticizes the sudden key appointments related to Pakistan economy and asked the government who is behind these changing?
“All of a sudden Governor State Bank, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue and Finance Minister were changed. Are the decisions being taken from somewhere else,” the PPP leader questioned. “The man who was taking a salary from IMF till yesterday has become our central bank’s governor,” he said.
He also said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government has bowed down before the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “When there will be political instability economy cannot take off,” the PPP chairman said. “In this time of financial crisis, the government has left poor on their own.” The PPP leader demanded the federal tax collection should be given under the Sindh government.
Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan, in order to revamp his financial tam ahs appointed renowned chartered accountant and tax affairs expert ‘Shabbar Zaidi’ as a new chairperson of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Government has also appointed International Monetary Funds’ current Senior Resident Representative for Arab Republic of Egypt, ‘Dr. Reza Baqir’ as State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor.
