The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, arrested Asif Ullah, a resident of Mohallah Malik Khel, in the Umarzai Charsadda district on suspicion of defrauding the general public on the pretext of investing in the Islamic Modaraba swindling Rs13.855 Million.
The defendant Asif Ullah was presented today before the Accountability Court that referred him to the NAB for 14 days in physical custody. He was running away for quite some time. The NAB initiated an investigation against the defendant Asif Ullah upon receiving several complaints. It happened during the Investigation that the accused in collusion among them persuaded and motivated the public to invest in their Mudarraba business by showing them multiple businesses.
They promised the public exorbitant profits on their investments, but in reality that did not exist. Thus, the accused defrauded the general public and deprived them of their income.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s NAB Director General, Fayyaz Ahmed Qureshi, assured the general public that NAB will continue its efforts without fear or favor and has returned the money stolen from the culprits its rightful heirs.
