On Wednesday, the Lahore High Court dismissed a petition seeking a ban on exhibition of television drama produced by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Ehd-e-Wafa”.
Judge Shahid Waheed observed that the petition was not maintainable and ordered Muhammad Zeeshan (petitioner) to first address the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra).
Responding to the queries of judge, Muhammad Zeeshan said his feelings were hurt when he watched the drama, which glorified the role of the army only and negatively portrayed politicians and media persons, this drama showing all pillars of the state except the judiciary.
Zeeshan further added that the roles described in the drama paint a negative image of Pakistan internationally. He urged the court to stop broadcasting the remaining episodes of the drama and also to take action against the TV station.
