The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed Dr. Mahmood Ayaz – Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) Principal and head of Medical Board treating former prime minister Nawaz Sharif – to submit his medical reports at 12:30 PM on Friday (Oct 25).
The LHC conducted hearing on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s petition seeking party supremo Nawaz Sharif’s bail in Chaudhry Sugar Mills Case.
Dr. Mahmood Ayaz appeared before the court and told that medical tests of Nawaz Sharif are conducted at 11:00 AM daily. He told that the PML-N leader is suffering from diabetes and gout along with heart and liver diseases. “Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician Doctor Adnan has also been included in the six-member medical board that examines the PML-N supremo at 09:00 AM, 11:00 AM and 04:00 PM every day.”
Nawaz Sharif is under treatment at the Services Hospital in Lahore after his platelet count once again dropped to a precariously low level. As per details, Nawaz Sharif’s blood platelet count fell sharply to a life-threatening level of 7,000. The supreme leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was taken to Services Hospital from NAB’s Lahore office late on Monday night because of the decline in platelet count.
According to medical reports Sharif has been diagnosed with acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), a bleeding disorder in which the immune system destroys platelets, which are necessary for normal blood clotting, according to medics.
