In a plea of Former President retired Gen Pervez Musharraf against formation of the special court in high treason case, the Lahore High Court on Monday (Dec 16) has served notice to the federal government.
Justice Syed Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi heard the miscellaneous plea of former president Pervez Musharraf. The federal government has been asked to submit its reply in the plea on December 17 (Tuesday).
The development came after Musharraf on Saturday (Dec 14) challenged the formation of the special court – that has reserved its verdict in the treason trial against him – as “unconstitutional” with the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Earlier, the special court’s three-member bench headed by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth on Thursday (Dec 5) adjourned the hearing of high treason case against former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf. The verdict on high treason case will be announced on December 17.
On the other hand, In a latest video message from Dubai’s American Hospital, where former president Pervez Musharraf is currently under-treatment, rejected the high treason case against him.
