The Lahore High Court on Tuesday (Dec 24) granted bail to former Punjab law minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s senior leader, Rana Sanaullah today in a case related to drug possession.
Earlier, on Monday (Dec 23) LHC judge Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmed reserved the verdict after hearing the arguments of Advocate Zahid Hussain Bukhari, Ahsan Bhawan and Azam Nazir Tarrar on behalf of Rana Sanaullah and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Prosecutor Muhammad Irfan Malik.
Earlier in his bail plea, Rana Sanaullah had stated that he was arrested in a false case of drugs smuggling as he used to criticize the government. The ANF had arrested Rana Sanaullah on July 1 in a narcotics case and the next day a judicial magistrate sent him to jail on judicial remand.
