Oppo chose not to launch a successor of the Find X, and let 2019 slip by without capitalizing on the momentum it had built up the year before. But now, Oppo has hinted that it is looking to resurrect the line-up by launching the Find X2 with a Snapdragon that will give the other brands a run for their money.
The Chinese phone maker is planning to unveil the Oppo Find X2 early in Q1 2020 and it will reportedly feature the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Renowned Chinese tipster, Digital chat station, has recently revealed key highlights about the device, claiming that it might also end up achieving the highest score in Antutu’s benchmark.
Oppo’s Vice President and President of Global Marketing, Brian Shen took to Weibo to share a teaser of the Find X2. Later, the founder and CEO of OPPO, Chen Mingyong too confirmed the launch of Find X2 in an interview on January 1. He also added that the Snapdragon 865 chipset powered phone will bring an extraordinary 5G experience. It has also been confirmed to bring with itself a new flagship Sony sensor.
Oppo has been slowly establishing a place for itself among its top competitors. While many would hate finding X in their mathematics class, last year’s Oppo Find X not only won over a lot of reviewers, but proved to be an excellent device. The device which came even without a proximity sensor, allowed the notch to be ‘just right.’ The phone was also one of the first ones to feature 3D facial recognition.
This had the consumers waiting patiently for an updated next year model, with everyone having their own ideas about what features the flagship’s successor would possess. Unfortunately, it seemed like Oppo, the BBK-owned OEM completely forgot about its Find X while focusing on the launch of its Reno series. However, on December 12, the Chinese company finally announced the Find X successor for the 2018 flagship.
As confirmed by Oppo, the smartphone will feature an updated Snapdragon 865 SoC, and will boast a higher display resolution compared to last year’s model. The Find X2 is speculated to be a display oriented smartphone having better colors, higher refresh rate than 60HZ, and broad dynamic ranges.
The company also stated that, the Find X2 will house Sony’s new, all pixel , omnidirectional PDAF technology camera unit. This will drastically improve the vertical and horizontal details captured by the smartphone.
The smartphone is set to launch in only a few months from now, the leaks and rumors have been pouring in as soon as the smartphone was announced, but haven’t yet been confirmed. To stay up to date about the latest updates and news keep following the ACE News.
