The Pakistan Army on Sunday (June 16) announced a number of changes to postings of its top generals, most notably appointing Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed as the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI).
Lieutenant General Aamir Abbasi appointed as Quarter Master General (QMG) Pakistan Army. Lieutenant General Moazzam Ejaz appointed as Engineer in Chief. Lieutenant General Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah appointed as Corps Commander Gujranwala. Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza appointed as Adjutant General Pakistan Army. Lieutenant General Faiz Hamid appointed as Director General ISI.
Earlier on April 12, the Pakistan Army promoted then-Major General Faiz Hameed to the rank of lieutenant general and appointed him Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ) later that month. He was previously serving as the head of the Counter Intelligence wing in the ISI.
General Hameed will be replacing Lt-Gen Asim Munir, who has now been posted as the Corps Commander Gujranwala, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
