Nisar Nasik, eminent Urdu, Punjabi poet and the lyricist of Dil Dil Pakistan, passed away at the age of 73 in Rawalpindi on early Wednesday (July 3) morning. His funeral prayers will be held at 11am and he will be buried at the Ratta Amral graveyard.
‘Dil dil Pakistan’ is one the widely regarded songs across the world. Junaid jamshed sang the song and got his fame from this song. He remained associated with Radio Pakistan long time and also wrote for Pakistan Television. Pakistan Television also awarded four lifetime achievement awards for recognition of his services. Nisar Nasik also wrote songs for many films.
During the last days of his life, Nasik suffered from mild blindness as well as amnesia but he thoroughly remembered his most iconic song.
