The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz will lead the PML- N rally today (July 7) at Quaid-e-Azam Ground in the city. However, the district administration and police did not grant it permission to hold the rally at the said venue.
The district administration offered the party the Sports Stadium, Rasul Road, as the venue for the rally. Deputy Commissioner Mehtab Wasim said that the district administration cannot allow anyone to hold public gathering due to security reasons.
The PML-N insisted on holding the rally at the venue of its choice and it shifted hundreds of chairs to the Cinema Ground on Friday evening where party workers got busy arranging the chairs. However, the police raided the venue and stopped the workers from arranging the chairs.
The former premier Nawaz Sharif’s daughter said: “I will definitely go and address the rally in Mandi Bahauddin on Sunday. Earlier Maryam Nawaz had declared that she cannot be intimidated and now nobody can stop her from going to the masses against the ‘selected’ Imran Khan government.
